The Pahalgam Attack: What Happened?

Who Is Behind the Attack?
Initially, The Resistance Front (TRF), a Pakistan-backed outfit linked to Lashkar-e-Taiba, claimed responsibility for the attack. Surprisingly, the group retracted its claim within hours. Still, Indian security agencies suspect cross-border involvement. The National Investigation Agency (NIA) is leading the investigation and has released suspect sketches.

Security Measures: 48 Tourist Sites Shut Down

These include popular locations like Doodhpathri, Verinag, Yusmarg, Kokernag, Aharbal, Manasbal, and Tosa Maidan. Officials stated that this step was necessary to protect visitors while intelligence operations are ongoing.
